What you can expect on your first visit.
A consult, evaluation and X-rays of your complaint area, is standard protocol for an initial patient office visit. If you have any available medical records regarding your past history pertaining to your condition, please take the time to make them available for my review. Chiropractic treatment can be rendered upon your initial office visit only after options, differential diagnoses and direction of care have been discussed. Please know, if your condition has been present for over a year, it may take multiple office visits over several months to get you feeling better.
Chiropractors offer a more progressive approach to today’s health care challenges. You may find variations in patient care regarding techniques and equipment from one doctor’s office to the next. However, the Chiropractic philosophy should remain the same.
Chiropractors will apply their education, skills and philosophies within their practice parameters in order to provide you the best possible resolution of your condition. Today’s Chiropractors prescribe to the theory that pain, inflammation, dysfunction and even disease can be directly linked to the improper vertebral alignments (subluxations) of your spinal column and that providing a series of spinal manipulations or adjustments to those misalignments, can lessen the risk factors of chronic disease. Chiropractors enjoy the success of returning their patients to their normal activities in a shorter period of time then those traditional treatments provided by medical providers.
Did you Know? Every practicing Chiropractor has obtained their undergraduate requirements at a university (now a 4 year degree) followed by four years at an accredited Chiropractic College. Upon graduation, a Doctorate of Chiropractic(DC) degree is obtained. Further, state board exams must be passed to obtain a license in the state they wish to practice in and every year 20 hours of continuing education are mandatory to maintain that license.
